Links and your local library
SRN processes links you enter, paste or share, chosen torrent files and magnet links, and local files you explicitly select. Accepted sources, titles, metadata, destinations, timestamps and download states can remain in the app’s local library. Optional clipboard detection reads copied text when the app opens or resumes; you can turn it off in Settings.
Requests go to the source
Inspecting or downloading content contacts the chosen source and related metadata, thumbnail or media services. Those services receive normal network information, including your IP address. Engine updates use upstream distribution services. SRN has no publisher account system, advertising or publisher analytics service. It does not need your platform password or browser login cookies.
Browser companion
The popup reads the selected tab’s URL and title. A Send action passes the selected link to the local Windows app through Native Messaging. Bundled scripts on YouTube and Instagram read the page URL, player layout and nearby post links to show a button on supported video pages. Merely displaying that button does not send the link to the app.
On Chrome and Edge, automatic capture checks new downloads, filenames, direct URLs, referrers when supplied, MIME types, states and browser safety flags. Eligible safe HTTPS downloads of any size can be handed to SRN. Unsupported, incognito and flagged downloads stay in the browser. The extension can pause or cancel a browser transfer to coordinate an accepted handoff. Popup controls pause capture temporarily or exclude hosts/file types.
The extension stores capture preferences, exclusions and bounded recovery records in the browser profile. It does not read browser passwords, cookies, private messages or the browsing-history database. A connection check records the companion version and check time locally on Windows; it is not continuous monitoring. Firefox supports manual actions, with automatic file capture disabled.
BitTorrent is a peer network
Torrent jobs contact trackers, discovery services and peers. Your IP address and torrent info hash may be visible to those parties. Downloads can upload pieces to other peers. Windows offers bounded seeding controls. Pausing or stopping later does not undo network activity that already occurred.
Files, background work and notifications
Windows saves files to the selected folder and stores history/settings in your user profile. Keep SRN open to advance the Windows queue. Partial files can remain for recovery.
Android uses private app storage for state/partial data and scoped storage or a folder you select for completed files. Native foreground work and notifications can continue after closing the interface, subject to Android limits. Force-stop requires reopening. Notifications may show filenames and progress on the lock screen according to your device settings. Android app backup is disabled in the release manifest.
Your controls
Manage history, clipboard detection, notifications, destinations and downloads inside SRN. History removal and file deletion are separate: removing a record does not remove the saved file. Uninstalling the browser companion does not erase the desktop library. Android uninstall/data clear removes private app data; published downloads can remain. Local file tools read only files selected for their stated purpose; they do not upload file contents to an SRN server.
Opening files uses another local app. Sharing on Android uses the system chooser; you choose the recipient. Local exports and backups can contain personal information: keep them private.
This website
This static website has no advertising, analytics, forms or account system. It stores only your optional light/dark appearance preference in browser local storage. Fonts and images are served with the site. The hosting provider processes ordinary web requests. Download buttons point to GitHub Releases, where GitHub’s own policies apply.
